- 2103.0 Elementary Hebrew I
- An introduction to biblical Hebrew. This course focuses on the
- grammar, syntax, and vocabulary of the Hebrew Bible with emphasis on
- translating from Hebrew to English.
- Fall
- 2113.0 Elementary Hebrew II
- A continuation of HEBR 2103, with added attention given to translating
- Hebrew narrative. The class will translate Jonah and selected texts
- from Genesis or Exodus. Prerequisite: HEBR 2013.
- Spring
- 3103.0 Hebrew Reading I
- An intermediate-level reading course emphasizing the translation of
- Hebrew narrative. The class will translate Ruth and other selected
- narrative texts. The course also includes an introduction to textual
- criticism. Prerequisite: HEBR 2113.
- Fall Even Yrs
- 3113.0 Hebrew Reading II
- A continuation of HEBR 3103. Both narrative and poetic texts will be
- studied. Prerequisite: HEBR 3103.
- Spring Odd Yrs
- 4103.0 Hebrew Exegesis I
- An intermediate-level Hebrew exegesis course focusing on the develop-
- ment of the student's exegetical skills with narrative texts in the
- Old Testament. Prerequisite: HEBR 2113.
- Fall Odd Yrs
- 4113.0 Hebrew Exegesis II
- An advanced-level Hebrew exegesis course focusing on the development
- of the student's exegetical skills with prophetic and poetic texts in
- the Old Testament. Prerequisite: HEBR 4103.
