A study of the methods of collecting, analyzing, and presenting
numerical data for business purposes, frequency distributions,
averages, dispersion, hypothesis testing, regression, correlation,
time series, index numbers. Prerequisite: MATH 1003 or higher MATH
course.

The fundamentals of business letter writing and report writing. Form,
composition and grammar will be emphasized. [CAC-W and CAC-O]

The legal environment of business, including the judicial system,
constitutional law, administrative law, basic law of contracts,
business ethics, property, bailments, intellectual property, trusts
and wills.

The study of managing individuals and small groups in the work place.
Topics include: individual motivation in the work place, groups at
work, power and social influence, managerial leadership, managing
change and conflict, and principles of management. Prerequisite:
Junior standing.

The nature of entrepreneurship and the role of the small business in
U.S. history and the contemporary economy. Focus on the process of
creating new business ventures and managing small businesses. Pre-

An examination of the global business environment with particular
emphasis on global competition, cultural diversity, market opportun-
ities, and institutions. Prerequisite: ECON 2013.

Determination of personnel requirements, recruitment of needed
employees, testing and training methods, supervision, compensation and
benefits, introduction to labor relations, and legal matters. Pre-
requisite: MGMT 3043.

4043.0 Production and Operations Management
The study of the concepts, principles and techniques of production of
goods and services within time and resource constraints. Topics
include: decision theory, forecasting, facility planning, inventory
and quality control, and project management. Prerequisites: MGMT 2033
or consent of the instructor.

4053.0 Business Leadership: A Biographical Approach
Seminar examining leadership and the role of entrepreneurs and
business leaders in the historical development of the U.S. economy. A
theoretical framework in leadership theory and theories of economic
development will be developed. Prerequisite: MGMT 3043.

4083.0 Business Ethics
This course develops an understanding of corporate governing boards,
governance, and accountability and ethical approaches to decision
making within this corporate context. Applies these ethical models and
legal criteria developed from actual court cases to common situations
in corporations presenting ethical problems. Prerequisite: Junior
standing.

has acquired in all prior course work; the case method will be used.
